🌿 Hardiness & growing note
Agrostemma Ocean Pearls is a hardy annual, well suited to UK growing conditions. In South Devon, it establishes quickly and flowers freely throughout the summer months.
It performs best in a sunny position with well-drained soil and is particularly valuable for adding height and movement to borders without overwhelming neighbouring plants.
🌸 Flowering & habit
Agrostemma Ocean Pearls produces large, satiny white flowers with delicate pearl-grey veining, creating a soft and refined appearance. The blooms are carried on tall, slender stems that sway gently in the breeze, bringing movement and lightness to planting schemes.
Plants develop an upright, naturally airy habit, making them ideal for:
cutting gardens
cottage garden borders
naturalistic planting schemes
The elegant flowers are excellent for cutting and combine beautifully with both pastel and vibrant summer flowers.
🌞 Flowering season
Agrostemma Ocean Pearls flowers from early summer into late summer, providing weeks of elegant blooms and continuous garden interest.
🐝 Pollinator friendly
The open flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects, helping support biodiversity and wildlife within the garden.
🌱 Growing conditions
Easy to grow and rewarding to cultivate, Agrostemma Ocean Pearls performs best in:
full sun
well-drained soil
Plants are relatively drought tolerant once established and thrive with minimal maintenance in sunny borders and cutting gardens.

🌿 How to grow
Plant out in a sunny position, spacing plants approximately 25–30 cm apart. In very cold climates be prepared to cover with fleece cloth.
Water well after planting and keep lightly moist while establishing. Once settled, plants require very little maintenance and will produce an abundance of elegant flowers throughout late Spring into summer. Taller plants may benefit from support in more exposed locations.
