Growing Tips
Plant your plugs outside once the risk of frost has passed, giving them a good drink to help them settle in. Foxgloves prefer soil that retains some moisture but drains well. They benefit from occasional feeding with general-purpose fertilizer during the growing season, which encourages strong spires and abundant blooms.
Your foxgloves Dalmatian Peach jumbo plug plants thrive in sunny borders or mixed cutting gardens. Staking is usually unnecessary, but taller plants may benefit from gentle support during windy weather. Regular deadheading of spent flowers encourages longer blooming and more stems suitable for cutting.
Planting them alongside other pollinator-friendly plants not only adds variety but supports bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects in your garden. Over time, these foxgloves may self-seed, giving you a beautiful naturalized effect with minimal effort.
Perfect for Cut Flowers
‘Dalmatian Peach’ foxgloves are excellent for cutting. Harvest stems just as the first few bells open for the longest vase life. Their soft apricot tones are wonderfully complementary to cornflowers, nigella, and other early-summer blooms. They make elegant arrangements in both casual and formal bouquets.
These foxgloves also work beautifully in mixed-height garden displays, offering vertical interest while coordinating with lower-growing companion plants. They’re ideal for farmers’ market growers, home bouquet makers, or anyone looking to create a colorful, pollinator-friendly cutting garden.
