TOULON APRICOT – Tall Snapdragon
If you love tall snapdragons that add structure, elegance, and a soft wash of colour to your garden or cutting patch, Toulon Apricot is one of the loveliest choices you can grow. This variety truly stands out for its warm, sunset-apricot tones that glow beautifully in both sunshine and softer evening light. It’s one of those plants that manages to feel both romantic and cheerful at the same time — making it an easy favourite for gardeners and floral designers.
Toulon snapdragons are known for their tall, upright stems, excellent uniformity, and exceptional vase life. They fall into the same “cutting-grade” category as well-known series like Potomac, meaning they were bred for height, straightness, and long-lasting blooms. If you’re planning a cutting garden or simply want height in your borders, the Toulon series is a brilliant choice — and Apricot might just be one of the most versatile colours of them all.
Colour-wise, this variety offers gorgeous peach, apricot, and warm coral undertones, with some stems leaning slightly softer or deeper depending on the light. This natural variation gives bouquets and borders a beautifully blended, painterly look. In mixed plantings, it sits perfectly with blush pinks, honey yellows, bronzes, dusky purples, terracotta, and soft greens. It’s especially stunning paired with dahlias, phlox, rudbeckia, cosmos, and roses.
Your plants are raised right here in our South Devon nursery, grown in peat-free compost from the moment they germinate. We supply them as 6 jumbo plug plants, chunky and well-rooted so they transplant beautifully without the fuss of tiny seedlings. They’re carefully packed in our hado bags, which are biodegradable or reusable, helping protect the plants during their journey while reducing waste.
Why Toulon Apricot Is A Must-Grow
This variety brings instant sunshine to any planting scheme. Because it’s tall and strong, it gives borders that essential vertical interest, drawing the eye upward and creating movement throughout the bed. The soft apricot tones add warmth without being overpowering — perfect for gardeners who prefer gentle, harmonious colour palettes.
For cutting, it’s hard to beat. The long stems are a dream to arrange with, and the flowers hold beautifully in the vase. The apricot shade is hugely popular with wedding florists and bouquet makers, offering a soft, sophisticated alternative to traditional pastels.
Pollinators adore snapdragons, and Toulon Apricot is no exception. Bees enjoy the classic “dragon mouth” shape of the blooms, and the long flowering spikes give them an excellent landing spot.

Growing Toulon Apricot
Plant in a sunny or lightly sheltered spot after frost. These tall varieties appreciate a little support in windy gardens. Regular cutting or deadheading will encourage continuous flowering throughout the summer. Keep watered during dry spells and feed lightly to maintain steady growth.
