Lavatera Malope Mont Blanc – Cutting Variety (6 Jumbo Plug Plants)
Lavatera Mont Blanc is a stunning, pure-white, tall-flowering annual that brings elegance and structure to both cutting gardens and cottage-style borders. Renowned for its long, branching stems and large trumpet-shaped blooms, Mont Blanc produces a profusion of crisp white flowers over an extended period, adding instant brightness and a sense of calm sophistication to the summer garden. Its long, slender stems are ideal for cutting, making it a favourite among florists and home growers alike, while its airy, natural growth habit lends itself beautifully to informal, relaxed border planting.
Our Lavatera Mont Blanc is grown here in South Devon in peat-free compost and supplied as six robust jumbo plug plants. These are cutting-grade plugs selected for uniformity, vigour and excellent root development, ensuring strong establishment and reliable flowering. We pack them carefully in biodegradable and reusable hado bags to keep the roots protected and hydrated during delivery, ensuring that they arrive in perfect condition and ready to plant.
Mont Blanc is highly prized for its long flowering season and its ease of cultivation. Once planted in a sunny, well-drained position, it establishes quickly, producing strong stems and abundant blooms from early summer through to the first frosts. Its large, trumpet-shaped flowers are pure white with subtle green calyces, creating a clean and luminous effect in borders, containers or cut arrangements. The variety is naturally bushy yet upright, giving height and structure to mixed perennial plantings without overwhelming neighbouring plants. This makes it ideal for cottage borders, naturalistic plantings, or cutting patches where repeated harvests are desired.
One of the key advantages of Lavatera Mont Blanc is its versatility. The long, straight stems are perfect for cutting and vase arrangements, while the prolific blooms make it a reliable choice for filling borders with pure white colour. Its neutral white colouring works beautifully with almost any planting scheme, from soft pastel palettes to bold jewel-toned combinations. Pair it with roses, larkspur, cosmos, foxgloves, ammi or daucus to create stunning textural contrasts and layered colour effects.

How to grow Lavatera Mont Blanc
Plant after the last frost in a sunny position with well-drained soil, enriched with organic matter if possible. Space plants 30–40 cm apart to allow for bushy growth and free airflow. Water well at planting, and continue to water regularly in dry periods, especially during the first few weeks. Provide light staking in windy gardens to support tall stems. Deadhead or cut flowers regularly to encourage continued flowering. Feed lightly through the growing season for maximum flower production and strong, cutting-quality stems.
